Greek voters did their duty in the 7 July, 2019, general elections by denying the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party the three percent threshold required to enter Parliament.

There can be no institutional toleration of violence with knives, of impunity, or of provocations with crowbars and Nazi salutes. There must be no reservations in confronting these phenomena,

Even if one accepts the contention that the left-wing government did not intentionally tailor the Criminal Code to benefit Golden Dawn, Syriza has yet to convincingly answer the charge that it was well aware of the repercussions

Liberty and democracy prevailed. Both those who carried out Golden Dawn’s crimes and those who masterminded them should be jailed now Yet this battle is not over.

In the 13 prefectures of the region of Macedonia SYRIZA is trailing New Democracy by a whopping 14.3 percentage points.

Asked if they approve of the government “with all that you know and your experience with SYRIZA”, 71.4 percent said they were very or rather dissatisfied.

Independent Greeks MP Thanasis Papachristopoulos, Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura, and Deputy Agriculture Minister Vasilis Kokkalis will give the government their confidence.
