Greek Middle Class

Inflation is citizens’ number one priority right now. The government has a duty to seek and find every possible solution in order to help them.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is quite rightly thrashing out measures with targeted assistance for the middle class that will be a central part of the national reconstruction plan on the basis of which Greece will receive EU Recovery Fund liquidity.

The median taxation and insurance contributions rose from 19.3 percent in 2009, to 19.7 percent in 2014, and to 27.9 percent in 2018.

The state takes 40 percent in taxes and insurances contributions from the income of taxpayers who declare 20,000 euros in earnings annually.

The entire economy has fallen victim to over-taxation, for which the government opted so to collect funds for electoral handouts at the end of its term.
