It would be no exaggeration to say that now more than ever in the past the education system is being used as a tool of clientelism.

In ignoring the pleas of the academic community, the state is failing to uphold basic rights such as the unhindered transmission of knowledge and the free exchange of ideas.

It is obvious that the message that the education minister is sending to unhired teachers is, “Vote for us now, and we will appoint you in three years.”
