The first trial dealing with the issues of the #ΜeΤoo movement in Greece started on 12 January and involved a sailing coach. The verdict was delivered on 14 June.

The public was not only shocked by the rape but also supportive of the victim, condemning in the collective consciousness the perpetrators of this heinous crime.

The securest way to bring sexual abusers to justice is to create the necessary conditions that will allow any woman who has had such an experience to tell her story without fear.

As serious as a crime of which one is accused may be and as emotionally charged as the case in which one is implicated may be, the accused must be treated with the appropriate caution.
