The images that followed the destruction of the Moria camp with homeless migrants finding refuge even in cemeteries bred a climate of guilt in Brussels

Just as opposition parties justly say that the protests are triggered by the miserable living conditions of refugees and migrants, so too there is a well-grounded suspicion that some NGOs have played a role that is a far cry from their stated humanitarian mission.

The government should marshal alL of its tools of communication to explain its plan and to protect local societies from various deceptions.
